On International Overdose Awareness Day, RISE Peer Recovery joins communities across the nation in remembering the lives lost to overdose and standing alongside the families, friends, and loved ones who continue to carry that loss.
On Thursday, August 27, members of the RISE team participated in the candlelight vigil in Huntingburg, coming together with our community to honor those we have lost and shine a light on the importance of awareness, prevention, recovery, and compassionate support.
Every name represents a person who mattered. Every life lost leaves an impact. Every family affected deserves compassion and support. And every person who is still struggling deserves hope, connection, and the opportunity to recover.
International Overdose Awareness Day is a time to remember those we have lost, but it is also a reminder of the work that remains. Through education, prevention, connection, and recovery support, we can help create communities where people feel supported and know that reaching out for help is a sign of strength.
Today, we remember.
Today, we raise awareness.
Today, we stand together.
