RISE Peer Recovery Today
Today, RISE Peer Recovery is a Certified Recovery Community
Organization serving Daviess, Knox, Dubois, and Pike Counties.
Through peer recovery support, jail reentry services,
community-based recovery coaching, housing assistance, and regional
partnerships, RISE empowers individuals and families to build
healthier, recovery-focused lives. What began with a single Peer
Recovery Coach in 2019 has grown into a regional organization
committed to expanding access to recovery, strengthening
communities, and creating pathways to hope across Southwest
Indiana.
August 2025
Launching the Pike County Fresh Start Pilot
Through funding provided by the Pike County Opioid Settlement Fund,
RISE Peer Recovery launched the Fresh Start Pilot Program to expand
recovery support for justice-involved individuals in Pike County.
The one-year pilot added two full-time Peer Recovery Coaches
dedicated to providing peer recovery, reentry support, and
connections to treatment and community resources.
June 2025
Expanding Housing & Maintaining Excellence
RISE Peer Recovery was awarded funding through the United Way of
Daviess County to establish a Short-Term Housing Assistance Program,
helping participants overcome housing barriers that can hinder
long-term recovery. During the same month, RISE was recertified as a
Certified Recovery Community Organization by the Indiana Recovery
Network and the Indiana Division of Mental Health and Addiction,
reaffirming its commitment to excellence in peer-led recovery
services.

Launching Dubois County IRACS
RISE Peer Recovery expanded its justice-involved recovery services
by launching the Integrated Reentry and Correctional Support
Program in Dubois County. To support the new program, RISE added
four Peer Recovery Coaches dedicated to providing peer recovery and
reentry services for individuals transitioning from incarceration.

Regional Recovery Hub Expansion
RISE Peer Recovery became the subrecipient for Indiana's Regional
Recovery Hubs Project, expanding recovery support services across
Daviess, Knox, Pike, and Dubois Counties. This initiative
strengthened regional collaboration, increased access to recovery
resources, and enhanced coordination among recovery providers
throughout Southwest Indiana. As part of this expansion, RISE added
three Community Peer Recovery Coaches to increase access to peer
recovery services across the region.

Growing Community-Based Services
RISE Peer Recovery received the Community Peer Expansion Grant,
adding four Community Peer Recovery Coaches to expand peer recovery
services throughout Daviess and Knox Counties and increase access
to recovery support beyond healthcare and correctional settings.

Introducing RISE Peer Recovery
The organization adopted the DBA (Doing Business As) “RISE Peer
Recovery,” reflecting a broader vision of hope, recovery, and
community transformation while continuing its mission of peer-led
support.

Certified Recovery Community Organization
Daviess County Peer Recovery Services became a Certified Recovery
Community Organization, recognized by the Indiana Recovery Network
and the Indiana Division of Mental Health and Addiction. This
certification affirmed the organization's commitment to providing
high-quality, peer-led recovery support services.
August 2022
Becoming a Nonprofit
Daviess County Peer Recovery Services was officially established as
a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, creating a sustainable
foundation for future growth and expanded community impact.
June 2022
Launching IRACS
Daviess County was selected as one of Indiana's first five pilot
communities to implement the Integrated Reentry and Correctional
Support Program, embedding Peer Recovery Coaches within the county
jail to provide recovery support before release and continue
services as individuals transitioned back into the community.
May 2021
Building Community Collaboration
Daviess County received a HRSA Planning Grant to strengthen the
local recovery system by formalizing the peer recovery workforce
and establishing the Daviess Advances Recovery Access Consortium.
The consortium united healthcare providers, behavioral health
organizations, criminal justice agencies, local government, and
community stakeholders to improve collaboration and expand access
to recovery support services.
September 2020
Expanding Peer Recovery into Healthcare
Daviess County was awarded funding through the State Opioid Response
Grant to embed Peer Recovery Coaches within Daviess Community
Hospital. Brian Peek oversaw the implementation of the program,
expanding services with four additional Peer Recovery Coaches to
provide recovery support in the healthcare setting.
November 2019
A Vision Begins
Brian Peek received funding through the Daviess County Community
Corrections Justice Partners Grant to serve as the first Peer
Recovery Coach in Daviess County. This marked the beginning of what
would eventually become RISE Peer Recovery, introducing peer
recovery support to the local criminal justice system.
