Every successful recovery journey begins with a connection—and sometimes that connection is made long before it is needed most.
Recently, an individual returning to the community after incarceration found himself without a safe place to stay following his release. Faced with immediate housing challenges, he knew where to turn because of a relationship established months earlier through RISE Peer Recovery’s IRACS program while he was still in the local jail.
That early connection made all the difference. Rather than facing the situation alone, he reached out for help, and the RISE team immediately began working to identify safe housing and connect him with the resources needed to support a successful transition back into the community.
Thanks to the compassion and generosity of Becky at Glendale Campground, a safe place was secured during a critical time. Her willingness to respond quickly transformed a potentially overwhelming situation into an opportunity for stability and hope.
Stories like this demonstrate the value of early engagement, strong community partnerships, and peer support. By building trusting relationships before an individual is released, RISE helps create pathways to recovery, stability, and long-term success.
