RISE Peer Recovery Participates in Fun in the Sun Community Event

RISE Peer Recovery was pleased to participate in the Fun in the Sun community event hosted by the Family Health Center at Longfellow Park in Vincennes.

We extend a special thank you to James Boyer for representing RISE Peer Recovery and engaging with community members throughout the evening. Events like these provide valuable opportunities to connect with individuals and families, share resources, and promote awareness about recovery and overdose prevention.

During the event, RISE distributed 11 doses of naloxone (Narcan) and provided education on the importance of carrying this life-saving medication. Community members learned how to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose, how naloxone can be administered in an emergency, and why increasing access to overdose prevention resources is an important part of protecting lives.

Every conversation helps reduce stigma, increase awareness, and empower individuals with the knowledge and tools to respond during an emergency. We are grateful for opportunities to serve our community through education, outreach, and prevention initiatives.

We appreciate the Family Health Center for including RISE Peer Recovery in this meaningful event and look forward to continuing our partnership to promote health, safety, and recovery throughout our community.
